JetLite , formerly Air Sahara, was established on 20 September 1991 and began operations on 3 December 1993 with two Boeing 737-200 aircraft as Sahara Airlines. JetLite has its base in Delhi and is Controlled by Jet Airways. the airline operates scheduled services connecting metropolitan centres in India.

JetLite also operates Helicopters on non-scheduled routes. Helicopters are available for charter services and for aerial photography. Passengers will not have to pay for their meals on board in Jet Lite Airways. Jetlite's overhaul is also expected to boost its fleet of aircrafts with the delivery of 10 Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which were ordered last year by the Air Sahara.

JetLite is operating 141 flights every day with over 300 connections every day. JetLite average fleet age is 6.5 years old in June 2006. The basic structure of Jet lite's services will feature services somewhere between that of full service Airliner and a Low cost carrier.
