The flight (Kingfisher IT 2145) will take off from Mumbai thrice a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and extend to another Marathwada city, Latur. The flight will start from Mumbai at 6 am and arrive in Nanded at 7.20 am. It will take off for Latur after 30 minutes and touch down in half an hour. There will be no stop-over in Nanded during return journey. The flight will proceed for Mumbai at 8.45 am and land at 10.10 am. Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and Union Aviation Minister Praful Patel will declare open the ultra modern airports in both cities. Apart from being able to land A320 and Boeing-737 craft, the airports have night landing facility, plush passenger terminals and fuelling stations.
Kingfisher's move is crucial as Nanded is expecting lakhs of national and international tourists for the tri-centenary celebrations of Guru-ta-Gaddi. Latur is also emerging a new business center in Marathwada and hence badly needed air connection with Mumbai.
